Madonna to host Cinema against Aids in Cannes

Madonna and Sharon Stone have joined forces to host the annual fundraiser 'Cinema against Aids' in Cannes.


Madge and Stone are active campaigners for The American Foundation for AIDS Research, the beneficiary of the gala, which Harvey Weinstein is sponsoring, reports Variety.


Seal will perform at the event which will take place at Le Moulin de Mougins restaurant on the Riviera on May 22, the night after the screening of Madonna's documentary 'I am Because we are' at the Cannes Film Festival.


The film has been directed by Nathan Rissman and produced by Madonna.


'I am Because we are' documents the concern over the millions of orphans in the African country of Malawi who have lost parents and siblings to HIV and AIDS, many of which live on the streets.


The film also shows the efforts with Madonna's charitable organisation Raising Malawi in helping with improving there lives and conditions.
