According to reports, at the end of her next tour, Madonna will play two private parties in Dubai for a whopping $25 million. In addition to this, the tickets to Madonna's first live gig in New York, at the Roseland Ballroom on April 30th have a price tags varying from $2783 to $5200. The original ticket prices were even higher, from $3200 to $5980 - but evidently they were too high and they needed to lower them.
*Editor's comment:
Obviously this gig is targeted only for those who are absolutely obsessed with her highness and willing to dug into their pockets for every last dime, or just for the rich to whom the price is meaningless. Just watching all that has been going on recently, I am seriously starting to think, has this woman gone completely delusional? Yes, I admit it, she is a big star, a legend, a fashion icon and she has a long career behind her, hits to make a necklace out of and even enough for two bracelets - in that respects it is righteous to raise prices - but this is just a bit too much already. She has really no place talking about spirituality and evolvement, when she is nowhere near that state of enlightenment and growth. She's a total victim of her oversized ego. Nobody is worth the price tag she puts on herself. Villages in her beloved Africa could live a long time just with what she earns in one single minute. As much as I have always admired her business skills, the recent developments do not speak of that, they do not speak of talent, they do not speak of music, they only speak of unrefrained money hunger, capitalism at its best and worst. I hope she does something good with her huge paycheks, something better than donates a portion to her blah-blah center. I am sorry for turning all bitchy on this, but I cannot control myself anymore. I have followed this woman for over 20 years and she is changing and not necessarily for the better. I can no longer admire her over-priced deals, no matter if I love her as a performer. But again, this is just my personal opinion and nobody needs to agree with it - no one at all.
